Ingredients you’ll need
Here’s a list of ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe. You can find the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete list with their measurements.
- Pork chops: You can use boneless or bone-in. I prefer boneless loin chops for this recipe.
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Olive oil: For frying the pork chops.
For the honey-garlic sauce, you’ll need:
- Unsalted butter: To fry the garlic in.
- Garlic cloves: We are using 6 cloves here.
- Honey
- Cider vinegar: You can also use rice wine vinegar, or any other white vinegar.
How to make Honey Garlic Pork Chops
To make this recipe, start by seasoning the pork chops with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Fry the chops on both sides until golden and cooked through – about 4 – 5 minutes on each side.
Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter. Fry the garlic until fragrant – about 1 minute.

Add the honey and vinegar. Increase heat to medium-high and cook until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly (about 3 – 4 minutes), stirring occasionally.
Add the pork chops back to the pan, and baste generously with the sauce.

Serve immediately with vegetables, rice, mash, or another side of your choice. Enjoy!

The best cuts of pork to use
Boneless pork chops are excellent for this recipe because they are thick and tender. I also prefer using loin chops because they are leaner than centre cut chops.
Centre cut, bone-in chops work well, too. They are also very lean.
When is a pork chop cooked?
A pork chop is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 63C / 145F. To check this, use a meat thermometer.
Cooking times can vary based on the thickness of the pork chop.

Something about honey and pork that just goes so well together. Used some thicker bone-in chops but still tasted amazing!
