These carrots are boiled until tender, then coated in a buttery, sweet maple syrup glaze.
All you need are a few simple ingredients, and in just 30 minutes you’ll have incredibly irresistible glazed carrots to serve.
They make the perfect side dish for the holidays, as well as for busy weeknight dinners!

Ingredients you’ll need
Here’s a list of ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe. You can find the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete list with their measurements.
- Carrots: Washed, peeled, and sliced. Alternatively, you can use baby carrots.
- Unsalted butter
- Pure maple syrup: Be sure to use real maple syrup.
- Light brown sugar: For extra sweetness with a caramelized taste.
- Ground cinnamon: Optional, but I highly recommend it to take these carrots to the next level.
- Salt and black pepper: To taste.
How to make Maple Glazed Carrots
To make these carrots, simply place the sliced carrots into a large saucepan and cover with water.
Add a teaspoon of salt and bring to the boil.

Reduce the heat to medium/low and simmer until tender – about 15 – 20 minutes. Drain and return back to the pan, lid-on to keep warm.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium/low heat. Stir in the maple syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon (if using), and cook until warmed – about 3 – 5 minutes.


Add the carrots and toss to coat.

Season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.

- 2 lbs (1kg) carrots, washed, peeled, and sliced
- 1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup (105g) pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (50g) light brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
